This presentation will review the status of research funding and the various technical & foundry-centric projects those funds support. Additionally, updates for some government-funded projects through AMC (American Metalcasting Consortium), America Makes, and others will be briefed. The various technology transfer services evolving at the American Foundry Society will be described; and finally, questions will be fielded on the full array of happenings at the American Foundry Society.
Brian Began is Senior Vice President of Metalcasting Technical Services at AFS. Prior to AFS, Brian worked at ASM International, Foseco, Climax Research Services, and Ford Motor Company - Cleveland Casting Plant.
